The narcissistic society that we live in today, amplified by the selfie society and digital natives means that likes are ever so important as people find the right lighting and angle for their pictures to attract your likes. Stories of depression and even suicide are not unheard of when the likes just don’t add up. It’s a sad world we live in and we must be careful not to be consumed by the responses of people to our messages on Social Media. In fact some of the most effective messages may have no virtual response, especially where the reader is convicted and being challenged accordingly.
As ministers, we are in the world and not of the world. We should never be motivated by the likes!!!
Always remember the reason you are online; it is not to gather likes but to get the message out to the people in the most effective and influential way. Likes are good but a life changed is better.
Don’t buy likes, don’t bribe for likes, don’t make crazy promises for likes but trust the message that God has given you. Remember that the blessings of the Lord maketh rich (who knows this may be extended to likes *smiles*) and adds no sorrow. If the glory of the Lord is to cover the earth as the waters cover the seas, know for sure that this will be purely God and not by likes.
